Boarding Policies & Procedures

Health, wellness, and safety policies.

  • Every boarding pet must be fully up to date on their vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo combo, bordetella, and canine influenza) and have a negative fecal test within the last calendar year. If your pet receives his/her vaccines and/or medical care at another facility, our team must have complete, updated veterinary records on file at least two days prior to check in day.

  • If your pet is on medications and/or supplements, please bring medications in original pill bottles for their stay. If your pet has special medical needs or a more extensive medication protocol, please call our office in advance of their stay to confirm how to best prepare and bring medications for your pet.

  • Every boarding pet must be pest and parasite-free. At check in, our team will ask you what preventative you are using on your pet and the date of his/her most recent dose.

  • You may bring your pet's own food, treats, and a toy for their stay. Our team will monitor their use of each of these items for safety throughout their stay. If something is deemed unsafe, we reserve the right to remove said item.

  • Only the listed owner is authorized to pick up your pet unless prior arrangements are made at time of drop off. If you wish to have someone other than the listed owner pick up pet, please notify our team at check in.

  • If multiple pets are scheduled to stay in the same run together and the Worthington Woods Animal Care team deems that the pets are a danger to eachother, staff, or surrounding animals, Worthington Woods Animal Care Center reserves the right to separate the pets. Client acknowledges that they may be responsible for additional charges if this occurs.

  • If your pet becomes ill during their stay, Worthington Woods Animal Care is authorized to immediately treat your pet and bill you for up to $150 (one hundred fifty dollars). Our team will make every effort to contact you, but can/will begin treating immediately without additional authorization.

Financial policies.

  • Boarding charges are incurred similar to a hotel. Your pet may check in anytime prior to closing on check in day, but we prefer to have all boarding pets in at least an hour before closing so we can get them properly settled and comfortable. We are open Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM - 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM - 3PM, and Sunday 4-5 PM. On check out day, your pet must be picked up by noon or an additional night's stay will be charged; the exception to this rule is Sundays. Since we are only open from 4-5 PM on Sundays so no additional charges will be incurred for a later pick up.

  • All payments are due in full at time of pick up. No pets will be discharged from boarding without full payment.

  • At time of reservation, we will charge your credit card $1.00 (one dollar) to establish your account. This will remain as a credit on your account until the stay. This allows us to minimize wait times and expedite your pet's check in and out of our facility.

  • Cancellation policy (non-holiday): If you need to cancel your pet's boarding reservation and the reservation is not over a major holiday, please kindly let us know at least 48 hours in advance. If we do not receive notice of the cancellation at least 48 hours in advance, you will be charged for two nights at your pet's boarding rate.

  • Holidays: A $3 (three dollar) surcharge will be applied the day before, the day of, and the day after all major holidays. Three day minimum stay over all major holidays. A deposit equal to 50% of your pet's total stay is due at time of booking.

  • Cancellation policy (holiday): For stays over a major holiday (Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day), reservations must be cancelled at least 7 (seven) days prior to scheduled arrival date. Any holiday reservations not cancelled at least seven days in advance will be charged the full amount of the scheduled stay.

  • Extra services. A la carte extras such as peanut butter filled kongs, extra individual play time, and daily photos are billed at an additional cost to nightly rate. If you wish to have your pet eat our house diet during their stay, food will be billed daily at the following rates: Dogs under 40 lbs = $2.50/day, Dogs over 40 lbs = $5.00/day, and Cats = $2.50/day. Additional medical treatments such as technician time, etc. may apply for special medical needs. Our team is always happy to provide a full estimate prior to {AnimalName}'s stay.
